June McNeil- President
June began playing accordion at the age of ten at ABC Music School in Edmonton. Later she took lessons from accordionist Stan Ostafie. June graduated from the University of Alberta with an Education degree specializing in Music and Home Economics. She took a few decades off of playing accordion while raising her family and teaching high school. June was inspired to restart playing the accordion after hearing about the Edmonton Accordion Society. Joining EAS provided opportunities to play in an orchestra, share music and listen to many styles of accordion music played by EAS members.
Ihor Nedoshytko – Vice President
Ihor started taking accordion lessons at age six from a neighbor a few houses down from his parents' house. Later, he took lessons from accordionist Stan Ostafie at the The United Conservatory of Music in Edmonton. He later taught at that school for a few years. Ihor has a bachelor's degree in Education, specializing in Music Education and Slavic Languages.
Dianne Tebby - Treasurer
Dianne is a multi-instrumentalist. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music in violin. Dianne started playing the accordion when she joined the Vinok World Dance group as a professional musician in 1989. The accordion has become one of her favourite instruments. Dianne joined the Edmonton Accordion Society at its inception in 1995.
Denis Bourdon – Recording Secretary
Denis started taking accordion music lessons in the second grade because he enjoyed the versatility and sound of the instrument. He eventually started a family band playing for weddings and country dances. Prior to retiring, Denis joined the Edmonton Accordion Society, and now enjoys playing for various functions and retirement homes, sharing the wonderful sound of the accordion with others.
Nic Molella – Director at Large
Nic owned an accordion music school when accordions were at the peak of their popularity in Edmonton. He has many hobbies including photography, travel and playing Italian music on his accordion.
Nick Tywoniuk – Director at Large
Nick enjoyed accordion and fiddle music since an early age. When he retired from work, he decided to take some private accordion lessons and to join the Edmonton Accordion Society. Nick has often stated that he has missed 50 years of accordion practice because of his late start but that his enjoyment level of the instrument remains very high.
